About the Wester Ross Biosphere
The Wester Ross Biosphere was created in April 2016 when the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) formally recognised our area of Northern Scotland as a Biosphere Reserve. See map below.
An interim committee has spent the last year organising the instruments required to run the local organisation. At our first AGM a new Board was elected and their detail will be posted here shortly.
The Biosphere family is be made up of members be they private individuals or local organisations. Their common aim to promote the development of a sustainable economy and society in Wester Ross.
